I first bought this book in the early 1970s when, as a young student in Edinburgh, I could totally empathise with the author, who has since matured greatly as a writer to become one of Scotland's foremost contemporary poets. My original copy was borrowed and not returned and I missed it ever since. Reading it now, in late middle age, it is as fresh as ever, offering a promise which Liz Lochhead has since fulfilled. I still love this little book.
