For those interested or keen to make the move to Macrobiotic eating (often resulting from illness or a desire to get "back to nature" this is a fine book which focuses on the practicalities of this often rigorous diet, but including an explanation on the origins and principles of macrobiotics.
Covered with a good style and humour the dishes are easy enough to follow, (assuming you can find all of the often unusual ingredients - Sainsburys were a big help here) although some dishes tried seemed rather bland and could do with some spicing up! There are a good range of recipies however so there is hope yet as we work through them!
Recommended reading however if you are planning trying Macrobiotics.

Outdated and too retro. Hopefully it'll find a good home now it's in a charity shop :-)

I have been aware of this book for many years and finally have my own copy! It is informative and easy to understand. I prize it, not least, for the gorgeous illustrations - done with felt pens!! A pleasure to read, to cook with and to eat the consequences. The recipes are delicious.
