Beginner bonus - no rounds!
Real learning takes practice but this booklet does give a doable one day beginning steps to filet crochet. I found it easiest for me to learn by reading the entire booklet then going back with the hook and thread to actually do the lessons - and then practice, practice, practice! I made several swatches 6X6" of each stitch taught (chain, single, double, triple, and double triple - you'll need your terms conversion chart here) and that work took me three days because handling those tiny hooks took some time to become comfortable with. The book has 9 lessons to introduce the stitcher to the art and techniques, then moves onto project.
Reading the patterns also takes some getting used to - best thing is to just get stuck in and do it. I did a lot of do-overs, lol, but then it all did click in and my first finished project wasn't a total disappointment. There are seven progressively more challenging projects, looking forward to moving on once I get that first project to a satisfactory finish:)
This is a good book to use to learn the basics of filet crochet and I'm glad to have it.
