Came across the passages from this book by route of the walking dead season 7. Interesting and enlightening read... "To harm one's enemy is to harm oneself"; no truer words have ever been spoken...

Hilariously I didn't realise it would be so tiny so almost wet myself laughing when it arrived. As for the contents, this was a gift for a friend who loves Art of War, but he finds it interesting and likes that you can just dip in and read bits.

one of the best reads ever; simple, to the heart of the matter, and so universal...
like that the layout gives one thought per page - some consider it a waste of space, but I think it lets the mind breathe

This is a tiny little book of aphorisms which are OK. The book is tiny - not a normal size paperback with one aphorism on each page. Its OK but I was expecting something a little more detailed, practical and specific about the more spiritual side of martial arts. Maybe I had the wrong expectation.

If you have or intend to read "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu you should consider reading this as the perfect counterpart. The true art of war is peace and this book explains how to obtain peace and fulfilment in any life.

Written by the creator of modern Aikido, it explains that the battle is against oneself and to obtain peace one must truly love oneself, everybody and everything around oneself. Easier said than done, but this should truly be the goal of any serious martial artist, human or visitor to this ethereal plane.
