For a long time it was very difficult to get simple introductions to the field of Biblical Theology - or the redemptive historical approach to the Bible.
Fortunately, this is no longer the case - there are numerous books by Goldsworthy and others which provide a very good grounding in this lens into scripture. However, it's still difficult to find books which take this approach and apply it depth to particular portions of scripture. It's this gap that this P&R series intends to fill.
This is simply written, but never simplistic. Duguid is able to take the fruits of modern scholarship and inform yet never overwhelm. The entire focus here is on a Christ centred approach to understanding the story of Abraham - and then moving out from that to show how this approach can lead to fresh insights about the nature and character of God, as well as our relationship with him.
Well recommended to all.
