I returned this book because the data tables and example worked formulae were all in US Imperial units which was very annoying. There is also a chapter on legal issues and financial incentives that is relevant only to Canada and the USA and is useless for other readers. A reasonably good read otherwise which includes some case studies and makes a reasonable introduction to micro-hydro generation.
I was disappointed to discover that this publication referred to projects undertaken in Canada and not the U.K. As far as I can recall this was not made clear in the book's description rendered by Amazon. Whilst much of the material is relevant to the U.K., there are differences in terminology and in particular availability of hardware matching that used by the author. All in all I was disappointed with my purchase and hope to find an equally practical guide written by a Brit!
