I read a lot of business books and typically, I've come to believe, you will read 250 pages to glean 25 pages of value if you're lucky.
This book is at least ten books in one which unexpectedly offers real, tangible and valuable insight into a complete range of business issues, obstacles and challenges on every page.

It really does live up to the promise of delivering value 'from vision to exit' so it really is worth a punt regardless of where you are within your business - I wish I had it when I was first starting out. I read this just as I was right in the middle of planning for the year and it's been instrumental in some of the key decisions and plans I've made.

This book will sit by the bed, follow me into work and accompany me on weekends away for the next couple of months at least.
Who'd have thought a chartered accountant could ever write something so damn interesting and useful?

This is the most practical guide on how to start, grow and sell a business. For an entrepreneur it covers all the stages a business goes through - and has lists of things to do, and just as interestingly things not to to. A great book to keep by your side as you start running your own business.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Guy. That's not a declaration of interest, but rather an opportunity to tell you that as an avuncular and clubbable yet focused chap, that's exactly his writing style, too. In this book, you won't be mired in academic treacle, but he doesn't skimp on the lessons either.

The key fact for prospective buyers of 'From Vision to Exit' is that the world is currently chock-full of how-to-start-a-business books; some of which are excellent, and some of which are as full of hokum as a homeopathic apothecary. But this isn't a start-your-own-business book. This book deals with the rarefied air of the developing, growing or maturing business; and there are all too few books which tackle this properly. Guy brings a forensic accountant's eye to the job, with a healthy dose of common sense too.

I recommend this book to you specifically if:
- You've lost the wood from the trees and you're happily doing what you've done for a while, but have no idea how to get off the treadmill
- You have a long-running business (a family business, for example) and no plan to speak of
- You're on the brink of making a major decision and need some neutral advice
- Your business is running you, instead of the other way round
- You need to make a step change in either profitability or value

Thank you for producing such a great book! Myself and two other directors started our own company at the start of 2010 (after a thought was triggered when having a meeting with a high profile estate agent). When starting out our vision was to become 'the future of property promotion' (the autotrader for houses), a portal to help people sell or let their properties without having to pay estate agent fee's!

After a frustrating year we kind of lost our path / 'vision' during 2011, but after reading this book it has really helped us re-focus and confirm our original vision is the way forward.

So, thank you (again) as this book has really helped and it will definitely be at my side for 'reference' along the journey. A MUST READ!

Having attended the official book launch I got stuck into the first few chapters on the train back home and can say what a breath of fresh air it was to read, having studied academic executive MBA books for the last two years! Having now read cover to cover, I can thoroughly recommend this book to business students, aspiring entrepreneurs and those already on the journey to business success. The book blends fascinating insights from well respected modern icons of business, but is also packed with pearls of wisdom from Guy and practical advice to give you clarity and focus to achieve your goals as an entrepreneur. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading Guys book. It does not have to be read Chapter by Chapter, you can pick a subject about building your business to exit and then study that part. Well written, clear, not to heavy and academic and includes some quotes from well known UK entrepreneurs that we can all follow and admire online. I shall be recommending it to people who ask for my guidance. Thank you Guy and his team of experts and supporters.

This book could make MBAs redundant. If you are thinking about starting - or want to grow - a business, this is an essential primer. Packed to the gills with clear and concise commmon sense, this is a commercial compendium to warm the cockles of your corporate cardiac organ. I can't recommend it enough; you will need not purchase another business book for a very long time. A triumph.
