Mr Walters does a splendid job of covering the airgun, air-rifle and pistol of the 20th century up to 1984. The technical section at the beginning is very informative, especially the section on calculating true accuracy. The other half of the book is a review of 400 different air-weapons from many many different manufacturers including very small ones. This book was written just at the beginning of the PCP era so most are spring-piston guns, but pneumatic and CO2 guns are covered too. The HW77 had just been launched, although Mr Walters does not fortell its fantastic success. Brief histories of the firms involved are included in the alphabetic listings. The index of weapons is not comprehensive but as an overview it lists every significant one, and there is also a section on pellets and accessories. I loved this book!
