I have found this book to be a great resorce. My pastor is working through it with myself and two other young preachers in the making. My pastor has used this to train people before and says it does help lay the foundations a preacher need to build on. This will also be most usfull for any Christian who want to grow closer to God.

A good and basic presentation of Christian doctrine. There are more in depth books available but Milne is sound and gives a good framework to hang your pegs from.
It's a useful book for helping in sermon preparation.

Dryer than the Sahara on a specially hot day, and takes whole pages to say what could be said in a short sentence. Difficult to think maybe this academic wants to make theology look so forbidding we won't want to challenge his place? Not that theological academia is unique in that... To sum up, Mr Milne is an Arminian, not a good writer and, despite having great material, has written the most boring book on this subject I can imagine. With all those recommendations, it is of course a book for University study - how else could it survive? <sigh>
