I bought a used copy ,that turned out to be a publishers slight, page 1 to 37 were all about Loius and his armies, page 38 and 39 are about the Virginia milita in the 1860's. whilst the french reappear on page 40 and 41,its only briefly as 42 / 43 are back in the 19th century. And then the index is in French and German! apart from the time travel and bonus foreign languages, its a good, brief ,over view of the French army under Louis and the colour plates are up to the usual Osprey standard. Its a big subject so it acts as more of a taster for the perid. Overall despite the missing text on some uniform plates, its a fairly good source book.
