I got this book after listening to some of Ravi's talks and thought, "I like the way this guy follows Jesus. I want that too!" Also, as I have a lot of connections with friends & family from a Hindi & Sikh background, I was hoping that this would help me to understand their culture and any stumbling blocks that they may generally have to the Christian faith.
Well, first of all, Ravi is an amazing writer. His command of words is impeccable, his expressions are well thought through and he has no problem in communicating with clarity. Now, all of this from someone who struggled at school/college/uni only highlights more how Jesus gets the credit. You see, a major part of Ravi's story points to the fact that from the moment he turned to follow Jesus, he found that the mountains he hadn't been able to climb wiith regards to education and associated learning, he now could! He discovered a love for reading because he found that Jesus had given him a deep desire to know and to know deep.
It is an autobiography and Ravi does well to cover his life story with much respect towards his family as well as a honesty that readers love to hear about. I am about 3/4 of the way through and I can fully recommend this book, whether you are a Christian or not. I am sure that you will find this man an inspiration for his honesty in declaring his weaknesses and battles throughout his younger years. Whether or not you have a faith is irrespective for we all need encourgement and suport and to be believed in, in order to be a true success in life.
Go on, get this book and be challenged in order to keep healthy and growing strong.
