This slightly bigger than A5 paperback describes the purchase, feeding, health care, accomodation requirements and breeding of Chameleons.
128 printed pages covering behaviour, diet, selection, disease, reproduction and species of Chameleons is an excellent addition to any herpetologist's book collection.
Profusely illustrated with colour photos throughout Franscois Le Berre imparts his extensive knowledge of these captivating little reptiles in an informative but readable format. An extensive 3 page index helps you find what you want quickly, however, one tiny critiscism in that a seperate species list would have made finding individual species a little easier than trying to find species in a general index. Apart from that I cannot fault this book, it gives information on everything you would want to know about keeping and breeding these charming reptiles.
There is a list of importers, breeders and organisations although these are mainly aimed at the American market.
If you want to keep Chameleons this book will tell you everything you need to get started. I get Flap Necked Chameleons in my garden in Phalaborwa, South Africa on a regular basis and they never fail to facinate me!
Well recommended! Enjoy! Bwana Foster, keep the wind in your face and the sun on your back.
