Oh - those picture captions ! Some of the most amateurish I've ever seen ; definitely in the 'schoolboy howler' category. Also, why only one photo of Eberbach when so many interesting ones are available ?
But - the book is essential reading for any student of the Normandy campaign. It largely consists of the translated report written for the Americans by Eberbach after the war and is very interesting indeed on the events before and after Falaise. So, don't write this book off - but it could have been so much better.
AN EXCELLENT BOOK TO READ BUT THE PHOTO'S LEAVE A LOT TO BE DESIRED CAPTIONS BELOW A LOT OF THEM DO NOT COROSPOND WITH THE PHOTO'S..SILLY MISTAKES LIKE CALLING A PANZER 4 A PANZER 3, OR A JAGDPANTHER, AN ORDINARY PANTHER...OR AN FERDINAND A TIGER TANK..10/10 FOR THE SCRIPT, BUT ONLY 2/10 FOR THE PHOTO'S...
