This theological set is a top-rate theology for anyone interested in the Reformed faith. Bavinck, who died in 1921, has only fairly recently been translated from the Dutch but his works are surprisingly in tune with current issues. He seemed to foresee them before they came into the open. I would recommend this set as highly good value-for-money and the print, paper and binding are excellent. When you have bought them, make sure you read and study them; and thereby get their full value.

This is the gold standard of Systematic Theology. Any Christian who is serious about studying the Word of God, the Bible, must have Bavinck's "Reformed Dogmatics" on their bookshelf, in their library. Apart from the Bible, this may possibly be one of the most important purchases a Christian may ever make.

This should be on the book shelf of every serious student of reformed theology or biblical studies. Bavinck's work isn't just a magisterial sweep through the articles of faith, it's also readable and devotional in tone. The translation by Vriend is clear and flowing. Once you've read Calvin's Institutes, follow it up with this. Faith changing.

A great systematic theology from a Calvinistic/Reformed perspective. Every theological and biblical topic is covered and exegeted in great detail from a highly respected Reformed scholar of the Bible. It is a must have if you want to get deeper into the Word of God and enjoy the benefits that ensue from it.

Now, at last, I see what all the fuss was about. Bavinck has an encyclopedic grasp of all major theological thinkers and interacts with them without losing his own convictions or caricaturing any, or getting lost in a mass of quotations.
