This book does a good job of identifying and classifying marine fishes. It clearly identifies the Feeding, Lighting, Compatibility, Tank Decor, Tank Level, Temperature, and Specific Gravity for every fish in the book. An index is provided using both the scientific names and the most common names. This book does not have any text on how to keep an aquarium. It's purpose is to identify fish!

It has a very comprehensive list of fish, most of which will never see the inside of an aquarium, for example the manta ray. It would have been useful if common names had been included even though they can be unreliable. Due to the advances in marine aquarium technology and knowledge since this addition was published, a fair amount of the information is out of date and just plain wrong. It is therefore mostly useful for identification of fish only.

There have historically been two books confused under this title . One is a MINI Atlas and one an Atlas. The Atlas is rarely found and although more expensive is the better book. This mini-atlas is still however very good value for money As a rider, should you find an Atlas (non-mini) for under £40 or so grab it.

Good book. Good service ( although there is some confusion over the exact title. There are two very similar book titles - one is an Atlas ( full sized pages) One is a Min-Atlas - as per illustration.
