My daughter had a doodle book by the same author when she was nine. She had great fun filling in the doodles and the results are hilarious to look at now that she is sixteen!
The book gives children a half-finished picture and a cue to complete it - e.g 'what can you see through the keyhole?' 'What's inside the bag?' and so on, leaving it up to them and their imagination to complete.
It was good for my daughter (at age nine) because she liked drawing but had trouble coming up with new ideas for what to draw. These books provide the initial idea to get the child started.
I recently bought 'Do you doodle?' For my daughter as a joke present because we'd been looking at her old doodle book and she's actually found it to be good for stress-busting in between exams etc! My younger children have now claimed it and have had fun too.
