A gripping and exciting book!
on 15 November 2010
This is Adele's 10th book, and for me, she delivers every time - this book is brilliant! It's very well written throughout, an easy read and one I didn't want to put down.
We're introduced to the two central characters, Nat and Neil. They are happily married and definitely do not want children, but then Neil has a change of heart and is practically begging Nat for a baby and she begins to question if Neil really is the one for her.
This tension causes them to drift apart, Nat working through her little black book, filled with the names and addresses of ex-lovers, arranging meetings with her exes. They stop communicating with one another, to the point where you think they will never reach an understanding and their marriage will ultimately breakdown over this issue.
This book certainly feels realistic as we get to see all the emotions and drama that all couples go through at some point when considering parenthood. Adele Parks writes this very cleverly, with brilliant twists and turns, and plenty of laughs throughout the book. And the tension in the last few chapters makes this a gripping and exciting book. Do it. Read it. Now.
