I will keep it simple. If you enjoy reasonably sound historical settings wherein a great tale of murder, mystery, etc. is woven, Jecks is an author you can't put down and impatiently wait for his next book. U.K. readers are fortunate to have first crack at his books because of the delay in release in the U.S. But, I have been known to be unable to wait that long.
After being introduced to Jecks, I had to obtain his earlier works. I don't usually do that. His writing skills are superb and each succeeding book gets better unlike some authors who lose the ability to sustain characters over time. I actually am current to 2009 and am truly amazed to see how he can get better over time.
