For anyone who grew up with eighties music this book is an excellent guide to most of the best bands and singers of that period. With entries bringing you up to date on what they are doing now, and lists of albums, videos and books to find out more information, what more could you ask. I recommend also getting the guides for the fifties, sixties and seventies. Can't wait for the nineties one.

A half decent book on 80's music. The pieces are well written. But the one major flaw is this. You would think that any book giving an overview of 80's music in the UK, would have an entry on the artist who had more hits then anyone else during the period. This book does not. Shakin' Stevens is not given his own entry.Looking at the index he has 2 small mentions in passing linked in to other artist's entries, but not his own.Does feature many entries on artists no one would of heard of but not Shaky.Overall disappointing.

A very good overview of the best available music of the eighties. It is a very authoritative and comprehensive overview of that decade. It would have been even better still if the album covers were also available - but this would have made the book too large.
