This book, written for a major exhibition at the Imperial War Museum, is a fascinating insight into the roles of animals in wartime. They are still used today in more regular tasks such as sniffer dogs but in the past, animals were put into some strange situations.
Well written and heavily and interestingly illustrated throughout.
Having seen the exhibition at The Imperial War Museum, I decided to buy the book. It has amazing stories of the valuble contributions and sacrifices that animals have made serving our nation during times of conflict and war. Tugs at the heart strings and at times made me very sad. If any of you get a chance visit the Animals In War Memorial on Park Lane, London. It is very moving.
