I love this book. As a teacher I have used this as a class novel and as a way of teaching about the Tudors through literacy (stories with historical settings). It is a very funny short story. The humour really hooks the children into the story and the topic. It is a fantastic fictional story with historical facts thrown in (and summerised at the back of the book, useful for teaching). It is a good fun read with subtle learning thrown in. A must when teaching about the Tudors!
Covered this book with my class during a Tudor topic. They enjoyed it very much - the humour and the revolting Tudor remedies brewed by the main character's mother. Interesting facts at the back of the book and ths children learnt a great deal about Tudors whilst enjoying the story, would recommend.
