Useful guide, but prices a little out of date...
on 10 September 2013
I've used AA CityPack guides before a number of times, and have always found them to be very useful in finding my way around whilst on holiday abroad & planning what to see. I particularly like the waterproof pull-out map at the back. The only criticism I have about the map, is the large key in the top-left-hand corner, which blots out a fair proportion of the map. Couldn't this be placed out of the way on the back?
Another useful addition, I think, would be a map of the whole country somewhere, perhaps in the front cover, just to get an idea of where the city is in relation to the country as a whole. This would also be useful when planning excursions.
My edition was printed in 2012, so it's fairly up-to-date, however, I was a little surprised to find that some prices were quite a bit higher than stated in the guide! For example, the CIS card which allows unlimited travel for a week, was listed as costing 16 Euro, had in fact gone up to 24 Euro since last year! Also, beware when booking tickets for museums etc online, you will indeed be able to skip the queue, but at a price... I suppose the moral of the story is check online to get the latest info.
