This book was originally one of my set books in As-level German, and after costs of other books this definately was not a regretful buy! When I first opened the book I was stunned at the excellent presentation and found the 'Vokabeltips' extremely helpful.
The book has become a great asset, and aided me to extend my German vocabulary/skill. Enabling a new impressive range of sentence, only possible through the books extensive vocabulary.
Overall the book has been a great investment with no doubt in my mind the influence it has had on my overall German.

There are two things to say about this book...
1)It's great if you are doing A-Level German, covering all the major topics imaginable.
2)In spite of No.1, the thematic approach does not help if you sre trying to find a word youve seen but can't remember where... I KNOW - get a dictionary right? Is still a little frustrating. Good amount of words though, use this in conjunction with "Wort Fuer Wort..." and you cant go far wrong so ****.

this is called advdanced german vocab. but it has very little to offer advanced learners. it advertises an easy way to learn advanced vocabulary. easy for who? for the people who wrote it, i think, as they clearly didn't put much effort in.
this is ok for german vocabulary but it doesn't have a great deal of relevant vocabulary, the amount that is offered in each section is small and i always found that i couldnt find the words or phrases i wanted. for a more conscise list around the same price try Wort Fur Wort. it has far more to offer and the same publisher also does the french Mot A Mot which is also great.
there is a spanish one too.
for school and college level and beyond try Teach Youself German Vocab BY Lisa Khalen.
