Obvious criticism but compelling
on 8 December 2011
You know you are going to get at least some mild criticism, but this is a savage indictment of the Bush administration's dismantling of democracy, transparency and the American constitution, which is somewhat terrifying. It's refreshing (for me) to hear an voice of authority from over there describe what we over here have known from the beginning - that he's arrogant, narcissistic and powerful, a dangerous cocktail. Some of the arguments are conflicting, a bit repetitive, and the internet doesn't get much ink time (even though the book is only 4 years old, social media doesn't get a look in, and it's a powerful response to some of his concerns). But the book's commanding and insightful never-the-less.
