I bought this book as I am a novice reader. Each card has 3 pages devoted to it. There is usually a single paragraph giving a general definition on the first page. The second page is entirely taken up with pictures of the card in 3 different decks (Universal Waite, Legacy and Shadowscapes). The third page has a few lines tailored to the specific image on each of these 3 decks. This might be useful if you own one of these decks but is of limited use if you don't. The book also includes a few chapters on related topics i.e. spreads, developing skills etc.
If I had to sum the book up in 1 sentence: short on information, long on graphics and white space.
However, if you are practising readings and don't quite trust your own interpretation of a card, it might be handy to have next to you so you can just quickly flick to that page for a reminder.
If you are looking to buy a book for more in-depth study of the traditional meanings of the cards to supplement your own thoughts then there are far better books.

This is a gentle introduction to the tarot cards and is easy reading. I would recommend it to a beginner, however there was not enough definition on each of the cards for me. I would have preferred more detail.

Barbara Moore great as always. She is the ultimate master of setting out complicated things in a way, that they seem to be suprisingly simple. And she's witty. So a lot of eureca-moments in this book for most tarot beginners.
