Very much a Gimmick set
on 10 December 2013
Maybe I was unlucky to get a bootlegged edition. The cards were very poor quality, flimsy and badly printed. The book is thick and well bound but its nothing that you cant already find on any number of free PDF files there are to download. I am somewhat uneasy at the writers disdainful brushing off of Reversed Cards stating "If a reversed card turns up I simply place it in an upright position" - whats the point of shuffling them then if the way they turn up is so unimportant? Certainly this is inconsistent with the previous pages that seem more about new age superstition than learning Tarot (don't let other people handle your cards, don't read for other people, make sure you "clean" your cards with moonlight, charge a special quartz crystal, wrap them in a silk cloth....and on and on). Whoever put this together is certainly inconsistent in their method. On the plus side even with the dismissal of the importance of reversed cards the descriptions are a good reference tool for comparison with other publications.
Overall impression, even with the quality issues I get the sense that this is more of a "gimmicky" set not a serious Tarot learning package.
