The crash course is perhaps one of the biggest revision series of books on the medical market that is aimed at the undergraduate medical student. This title is the 4th edition of the series on the topic of General Medicine and follows the layout & style that has slowly come to define the series with the addition of more exam style preparation questions.
The advantage of this text is that it gives the student most of the information that they could need to prepare them for the undergraduate exams, all in one place. This is naturally not a thin title given the vast array of information that could be covered by the title. That said this title does seem to cover the array of information it contains very well. As is the case with much if not all of the crash course series, this is certainly not the best title for you if you are a visual learner, might I suggest in this case that you should consider Medicine at a Glance Text and Cases Bundle as being a far more appropriate resource for yourselves?
The disadvantage of this text is that there are some spelling mistakes & typos within it which was a shame given the price of the text & the publisher who are one of the largest in the world. If however you can get over these then apart from the lack of images, there are not many other major disadvantages for the student apart from that some of the chapters are a bit long.
In conclusion this is certainly a useful title to have in your personal library for revising for your medical school exams however it would also be worth having or having before this the Medicine at a Glance Text and Cases Bundle as with this title you can find essential information when revising slightly quicker than with this crash course title.
