I had planned to write a review after finishing the book, but realise I never will…. because I will keep it on my desk for the foreseeable. I am a Founder CEO, and don't have much time, but certainly a lot of pressure.
This book is exactly what I have been looking for, something meaningful but practical. It answers real life questions without grandeur and posturing. It's your best mate, giving you the best advice to be your best, to help yourself and to take everything you have already achieved and make it better.
I had always been put off by professional coaching books/seminars - professional development has always mostly been about improving weaknesses - I prefer strength based approaches, but it took while to learn that. This, for me, is neither, its about control, its about being equipped to choose how you deal with things, at work, in your personal life and how investing in yourself is the on priority we are all better for.
I never dreamed that I would find a non-judgemental manual that could make such an impact on how I perform in my life. I’m never letting it out of my sight ! (and I have bought it for my team, from Intern to COO )
Very useful book full of practical strategies to get the best out of what you want in life be it work or home or social or all 3 aspects of your life. Lots of clear examples of people in many different walks of life finding certain things difficult and how drawing up a simple plan with a good understanding of how your brains and energies work can help you change that area you are finding a challenge. I’ve just ordered a second copy for a friend.
I am currently reading The Shed Method and it was a brilliant purchase. I have been doing a series of interviews recently and it has really built my confidence on how to remain calm and to answer questions with conviction and to understand what it is I am trying to get across.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for inspiration, a different point of view, a confidence boost, to make better decisions or looking to change what they do in all aspects of life.
I’ve been lucky enough to be coached by Sara through some key life moments during the last few years and the same energy I would feel after every session with her was there after reading The SHED Method!
The timing couldn’t be better as I start to think about another transition but that’s the value of the wisdom and counsel in this book, it’s always the right time to look at the many ways you can be your best. What Sara does brilliantly is nudge you to make a choice to be better and most importantly, to be really clear and specific about how you’re going to achieve it.
I knew this book would be excellent and it hasn’t disappointed! Highly recommend to anyone who wants to manage themselves in the best way they can for those decisions and life moments that really count.
I loved this book. The author uses fantastic case studies and examples through the book - this really helped me to visualise real life situations and understand how The SHED Method can be used to make better choices in everyday situations. I read this book initially to help with my business decision making however, much of the advice has also been very relevant for my personal life too. I highly recommend The SHED Method.
The concepts are really useful and easy to understand, plenty of examples to explain as well. I heard Sara speak at a Seminar and she is very good at covering the points concisely and with humour, this is reflected in the book.
This book resonated with me so much that I have bought it for many of my friends who also run companies. Sara’s writing is thoughtful, clear, and energising. I immediately started making adjustments to my management style and my daily routine as I read the book. Very highly recommended from someone who runs a growing business and has read quite a few management books.
Smart, accessible and packed with brilliant tips to help you live a better life. Will be taking plenty of Sara's tips forward to help with my day-to-day, not least shoring up my wonky shed! Would recommend from anyone suffering with burnout and stumbling blocks in their daily life.
