This is a brief and none the less comprehensive introduction to the work and life of Edgar Degas.

There is first a biography of the artist (pp. 5-25), illustrasted with 9 black-and-white figures.
Then an outline biography (p. 26),
A select bibliography (p. 28),
The List of all illustrations in the book (pp. 29-31)
Then, 48 colour plates with individual explanations and, very often, comparative figures.

It is a good book overall.

Just a little drawback is that sometimes individual explanations are set up in landscape format, with the text on the side, when the picture is also on the side.

This was bought as a gift, it arrived promptly for christmas and was wrapped. So brief look only given to book but seemed a good quality paperback.
