This book depicts black people in all walks of life throughout Great Britain's imperialist era. Historians of British society and media have largely ignored the facts of the lives of many minorities. This attitude is continues today in period dramas and films.
This book of knowledge should be on every school book shelf, yet it is over-priced. The photographs are old and should be on glossy paper to improve the details. At present the photos are printed on plain paper look very drab. I hope this book will republished using modern photolithographic techniques.

A highly informative book about an often neglected section of British, and British colonial history. It corrects the fallacy that black Britons only appeared post Windrush in 1948.
