This is a really good book. Peter Lane has done a marvellous job and the book serves not only as an interesting item to have around but a source of endless ideas stemming from the information about work done both by the author and by other potters wordwide. It is however a great disappointment that many of the illustrations are in black and white, even in the section of the book dealing with decoration where colour is fundamental. I would have given this book five crowns but for this. In this age with a book of this price the publishers could have given better value and I know that I shall be constantly disappointed as I peer at the black and white photos and try to imagine the colours from the descriptions given.
