As I teach Developmental Psychology, I needed to recommend a more concise and complete textbook, which contained contemporary issues and simplified content. This book is the answer! It is both complete, concise and easily understandable. All content is spelled out in easy to follow explanations. The layout of the book covers all aspects of Developmental Psychology in significant detail. The separation of the book into two parts, typical and atypical development, works wonders. It provides an excellent alternative to the glossy American textbooks in a unique and classic style. It is far better than the Smith, Cowie and Blades, another exemplary introductory text. It is with joy and relish that I turn the pages of this authorative book. The book covers most contemporary information on Developmental Psychology and will suit all. The BPS and Martin Herbert ought to be proud of such a wonderful and easily accessible text. I have and will certainly continue recommending this text to students for a long time to come. One extra consideration is the price, possibly the most affordable and complete text on the market. I was that impressed that I bought my own copy. That's how impressed with it I am!
