This book is an anthology of all the major source material you will need for a study on European Art around the time of the Eighteenth Century, making it ideal for university students studying art or art modules. It contains documents about the inauguration of the Academie Francaise, art criticism from Diderot and Rousseau as well as explanations of the various issues surrounding art at that time. An excellent book full of useful primary sources.
If you have any interest in art at all I suggest that you need these three books. They take all the hard work out of art history and leave you with a brilliant micro library of excerpts from primary sources.
