This is a good, down-to-earth introduction to semantic web. Through concrete examples, the author do a good job at demystifying RDF and consort.
In the introduction, the authors explain their goal is to show that, although the W3C stack for semantic web is not complete yet, it is useful already, not very difficult to understand/use and many applications can be written to use it.
I think they succeed, on the strength of what we learned we have adapted one our projects to use semantic web technologies.

You definitely need to have a good knowledge of Python in order to understand what's going on in this book.

Problem is that some of the source code in the book doesn't actually work. If you download the code snippets off the internet (using the URLs from the text), then it does work.
