Stan writes in his own style and it is not to everyones liking. But, for me this is indulgent fun story written about a group that has to date been left out of books. The story of Orcs is fun, filled with strength and thoughtfulness, fighting and running around.

Swapped many of my usual favourite pastimes to explore the Orc's world as set out in these adventures of the Wolverines and Vixens of course. Deliberate slow read to enjoy every scenario to the maximum. Only criticism is that the final book is awaiting and I do not want this story to have an ending. Would love to read much much more about these wonderful Orcs.

If there is such a thing as a guarantee by an author its that Stan's novels will do what it not only says on the tin but with talent to spare. You get high octane combat, a great story arc and characters that jump off the page to the readers imagination with great prose. Add to the mix an author who not only know's his trade but also does it in such a way that the reader has devoured the tale before they've even realised that they're there and it's a tale that will have many a legion of fans demanding more from Stan in a very short time. Beware the march of the fan army.

I really really enjoyed the omnibus edition of the first Orc series and purchased the next two books with much anticipation. While the first book of this new series is ok, this second book is truly awful. This book reads like a bad outline for a computer game. It is a short book that truly drags, yet nothing much happens. There seems to be no grand plot and we merely jump from sketch to stetch. The only saving grace is that the main characters retain their original charm but it is like watching good actors trying to make the best of bad material.

A book to be avoided.

Save your money or try something new.

Love the book but the spine binding is of poor quality and pages were falling out as the final chapters were reached.

Very good read. This is as good as the earlier version. Well written and fast paced. I recommend this book.

Not up to the standard of the first trilogy. A bit let down, as a fan.
