Loved the book how he brings all the strands of English together.
However in constantly referring to England does he mean Great Britain or England. This is a common mistake by people from the USA. Little if any mention is made of Scotland and that other language from the same roots Scots. Ireland and Wales have versions of English. It would be interesting to know.

Bryson never fails to entertain,so I enjoyed his wanderings in the bottom of the world. Is it the bottom? However short of going myself gives a nearly there account.

I have read quite a few of Bill Bryson's books and enjoy them all. This made me want to do that Aussie road trip as I thoroughly enjoyed BB's take on it. Fantastic!

Very interesting and entertaining book. Full of typical Bryson humour and pretty informative about a vast subject.
