This is a great introduction to epidemiology. As a lecturer I found that students are very often turned away from subjects by books with too much information and too little application.

This book gives a good basis in the theory behind epidemiology and is full of examples. I recommend it as a first step into epidemiology.

I bought this book whilst studying epidemiology as part of an MSc Public Health. I found it very useful. It is written in a straightforward manner that makes the subject easier to understand. It uses many 'real-life' examples which helps in understanding the subject matter in a grounded way, as well as having a number of self tests. I would recommend this book for anyone struggling with this subject, and for anyone who has been scared off by some of the weighty difficult books you can also find on epidemiology!

Great book. It was easier to digest than other books on the topic, for example the odds and relative risk ratios' were displayed thoughtfully, clearly and the authors' encouraged the reader nicely. I liked the diagrams and tables, they added depth to the learning process. Id love to see more in the next addition. A great book. My other favourite book was by the author Kenneth Rothman.
