This was useful as a read through on the night before the exam, but it was not very useful as a study guide as it did not provide me with anything I was taught in class or by the notes at the bottom of the text. I would recommend the YORK NOTES 2015! It has an abundant amount of detail concerning analysis/interpretations, critical interpretation (stage/film/literary) and comments, and contextual information! It also includes lots of detail concerning potential essay questions (at least for the OCR board) whether about themes or characters! This Cambridge guide is also useful but not enough.

This book has been really useful when studying King Lear for A level. I particularly like the quotes it gives you from critics on particular topics as these are really useful for the exam.

A very clear, succinct guide covering all the areas needed to help A level students prepare for examination. Very useful section on crticism and critical approaches.
