This book is lavishly produced, with superb full colour pictures of some of the world's most exquisite jewels. It's written by several experts, so the syle (and quality) of writing varies between sections. That said, the content is curated well and the knowledge and enthusiasm of the contributors is evident. This heavyweight volume is as informative as it is beautiful making it a pleasure to dip into for a quick fix of luscious jewels, or to immerse yourself in study. If gems, fine jewels and fashion history are your passions, Emerald deserves pride of place on your collection.
An excellent book about a gemstone that is about 200 times rarer than diamond (the price and demand for diamonds is only maintained by De Beers near monopoly position and huge advertising campaigns). This volume examines the gemmology, mining and wearing of emeralds. It is illustrated with some beautiful photographs of amazing gems and jewels. Whether you are a jeweller working with emeralds, a retailer selling emeralds or a wearer of emeralds, this book has something for you.
