I saw this book in the library and was simply delighted to find and buy it. Covers all of his earlier work and how he progresses in process and theory, inspirations and influences. The images are brilliant and the book gives a real insight into how Hockney perceives himself and his work. An exciting buy. Highly recommended and a must for lovers of Hockney's work.

Super useful book on David Hockney. It is very comprehensive all the way up to 1975 / 76 with 100s of mainly black and white photos of his works. Some of the works are in colour. The book is also a very interesting read with many explanations of his approach and techniques etc. Certainly the best book I have found on the superb artist (even if it is now a little dated it really doesn't feel that way)
