I recommend this book as a solid introduction to the capital markets. The main product classes and their derivatives are covered in a simple and direct style. The principal techniques for pricing and the use of sensitivites are explained with a good set of illustrative examples. This book is not nearly as formal as Hull's Options, Futures, & Other Derivatives but it covers a wider field and is much better suited in its billed role as an introduction.
