As with all the Wiley 'Bible' range of books they are exceptionally thorough.

Don't be put off by the size of this tome, as it takes you from the very basics right through to an advanced user in a clear and well-structured manner with numerous examples. You can also visit the companion website to download all the interactive lessons, sample code and additional Dreamweaver techniques - essential if you really want to get the full benefit from this book.

If you intend studying for Adobe certification, this book plus Adobe's Classroom in a Book for Dreamweaver CS5 should be all you will need.

As with most *Bibles, this comprehensively covers the software but is not a good book to learn the software from. The first couple of chapters explain all the features of Dreamweaver but in too much detail for someone who is looking to learn the product. I had to turn to another book to get going but this will undoubtedly prove useful once my understanding grows. So for the proficient user - great, for the ab initio, I would look elsewhere to start with.

I am not saying don't get this book but I think you should understand WHAT this book is for then you can decide if its for you.

This book is great if you need an overview about how Dreamweaver works and what you can do with it. It is perfect for if you have Dreamweaver and want to get a more in depth understanding of the features.

This book isn't much use if you want to learn to use Dreamweaver and how to design web pages. For that you are better off getting the Classroom in a book or The Dreamweaver Missing manual (I'd say both).

I gave this book 3 stars because it does what it does do what it's supposed to do but not what I think most readers would expect it to do. Also it's a poor read, the layout isn't very nice there aren't any pull out boxes for you to look at and it's quite boring and uninspiring to look at but hey this book is information heavy and hardly designed to be an exciting read. So get this book but only if you understand WHAT you're getting. It IS a good book (like the Bible) but only if you know what it's for (erm...like the Bible).

I'm not the person using the book, but the person who is likes it a lot. I've done programming (not web-pages), & I can see this is a good resource for a very heavy duty programme! Unless you've used a prog like Dreamwever before (It's a whole new ball-game from HTML) you need a book like this. Combine this with the YouTube videos & you've got a good set of tools.
