I have all of Victoria Lauries Ghost Hunter and Psychic Eye books to date. I've struggled along to page 113 so far and frankly it's sloppy and lazy writing. Set in a castle in Wales there doesn't appear to be any Welsh people so far. One character who started off Scots according to his speech did have just a sentence which was in the Welsh vernacular but maybe that was a lucky coincidence. Also, the definitively English manager is sooo old he can't cope with mobile phones yet gives his distances in kilometres which is totally unrealistic-mainland Europe uses km so why bother researching an individual country when you can generalise. Don't set a book somewhere specific if you can't be bothered to make the effort to be at least vaguely realistic, make up the place as well as the facts. Gilley continues to be a caricature of himself, the magnetic sweatshirt has it's usual star turn as an item that will be argued and glared over. Nobody ever seems to give him or MJ the wake up and grow up call they so clearly need. You would hope to see regular characters grow over a series of books but not these ones. Nor are they ever prepared to do that which they came for,by book 7 surely they could manage that? This book put me in mind of the Little Britain sketch of "Dame Sally Markham" lying on a sofa giving a title to her secretary, the first line, last line and blah blah blah the usual gubbins for the middle. :-(

this book continues in the usual style. victoria laurie keeps her readers interested to the last page. the book is excellent for anyone who likes this genre, especially if one has the imagination to appreciate ghosts and their place in the world around
