A promising plot with international thieves, FBI and mafia-type baddies, ruined by too much clichéd romantic prose ("you are magnificent", "you are a roman feast and you convince me I'm a conquering gladiator", "you make me a beast" etc.. WHO really talks like that, I wonder? Not italian men, I assure you). Basically a very common and not original "roman rose" with trite passion scenes, disguised as a mistery novel. AND please, if you have to use foreign characters and names, at least get them right! Mossimo is not an italian name (Massimo is), and neither is Fico (which just means "cool" or "figue") and Carmine is a man's name, not a woman's. I would not recommend it. You want romance and mistery and a good laugh, you're surely better off with janet evanovich's Plum series (now THOSE are something else!).
