John Colleton was the erotic pen-name of Robert W Marks for publishing his fourteen novels; this is the tenth. They mostly describe the travelling, book-writing and movie-making activities of Bill, Cloris and Amy, although other characters, mainly beautiful women and mysteriously powerful men, take part in lesser roles covering several books. In this book, the rich Greek heiress Marianna is sought for acting and/or funding a movie, and Bill is dispatched as a persuader. Events such as kidnapping, drug-running and murder take place at an alarming speed, and there are many twists and turns. Colleton's books are best taken as a whole, and indeed in sequence, but even singly they are erudite and entertaining at a quite high intellectual level. Perhaps an acquired taste, but I find these books most enjoyable.
