Surprised that I actually bought and read it. Very well written and a reader can then sense that none of the Luftwaffe fighter pilots were Nazi's. Germans, yes, but they had the same respect for our RAF crews as they had themselves. Once I got into it, I read the book at every possible spare moment until I had finished it. Will read it again before this year's end.
A shortish book written not long after the war. An absorbing account of the author's war and the best account of the impact British night fighters on their German counterparts that I have read. I rate this book at 3.5 stars. If this book had been enlarged with additional information and photos it would warrant 5 stars.
this is the story of German Night Fighter Pilot that was originally published in his own language, and has been translated into English back in the 70,s, he does not glorify war under any circumstances, Peter
Fascinating story from the German side by a crack nighfighter ace of the air war in the night skies over Europe during ww2. As the narrative unfolds, the reality of the impact of allied air superiority becomes clear.
