Tisserand's original Essential Oil Safety textbook was a first in the field, and this enormously expanded second edition is hugely impressive. In a realm where so much that is written about essential oils and aromatherapy is, frankly, a load of New Age guff, this book brings some desperately needed hard facts to the reader. It's exhaustively referenced, collecting vast amounts of research, but maintains a splendidly critical and lucid narrative discussing the information. Absolutely invaluable for any serious user of essential oils.
Fantastic book, very detailed. If you're serious about the chemistry of aromatherapy, or you need the chemical composition information to make and sell body products using essential oils this is the books for you.
I already enjoyed the first edition and needed it a lot for all kind of teachings and lectures. But this monster of a book even is better than all of my expectations! Thank you Robert (and Rodney)! Hard to imagine that somebody was able to show evidence of many "aromatic" details: there are more than 3,400 new references, 400 essential oil profiles and 206 constituent profiles! In a more common and handy size this book would have well over 1,000 pages, due to the large format it still presents its cornucopia full of aromatic knowledge on almost 800 pages. So it well deserves 6 stars - but the packing only gets 3 stars as the two lower corners of this heavy volume came badly damaged (the packaging was really good but not good enough for such weight). And it came before Christmas instead of 3rd of January.
this book is not a beginners book. It is a valuable reference for the experienced eseential oils user or practitioner, who has read a lot about the possible uses of eo's and wants to learn more about how to use them safely. I love it! It contains information I haven;t found anywhere else!
A very detailed review of all current research relating to the use of essential oils covering inhalation, topical application and clinical aromatherapy. Essential reading for all professional aromatherapists working in a health care setting. However, it may be too complex for general aromatherapy use and certainly not suited to being carried around!
Amazing, outstanding, brilliant , well worth it, long waited for and a really good book that I am still unable to put down after months of having it Ms passing my degree. They have pulled out all the stops to do this book and it is ideal for anyone doing the FD in complementary therapies in clinical practice as it fills in the spaces in many areas of your learning. Easy to understand and it flows well also . Thank you it's great.
