Yes and no. What is this book about well let me tell you. it is about a medievil romance, there are a bit funny scenes though out the book and live comes in the middle however when u think its all over and done with i felt that virgina henley was dragging it out in the 23 chapter just to make the credits up. that part was sad who ever reads it know what i mean when u read stories like that you do not expect to read something like that. that part im not sure if it either let down the book or not cause we all know it could happen in real life but the way she approached it could be better cause if i know that sort of thing was in the book i doubt i would of brought it. we romance readers buy the book for romance plots and drama but not that kinda drama but all in all the book was a success dont go basing your judgement on the reveiws read the book urself if u dont like it bring it back within a DAY cause it looks as though u havent read it i can read virginia heley books non stop in 8-9 hours.

This book is not worth the effort to buy it!! Ravenspur first thinks Roseanna is someone who sleeps around, then when he learns his mistake tries to marry her. Even though he is the same age as her father.I feel the characters and plot were very stupid and need rethinking. However I have read MANY of Virginia Henley's books and this was the first I did not want to finish

This was the first Virginia Henley book I read. It touched my heart. It was so amazing. I adored Roger and how much he loved Roseanna. Ms. Henley also put in the history in there that made me want to learn more about the time period. I laughed at some of the comments Roger made and I cried at that one part (whoever read it will know what I mean). All in all I recommend this book to any one who loves romance novels. This is my favorite book!!!!!!!!!!

I really enjoued Year and a Day and Tempted so had high hopes for this novel. Unfortunately I was left very disappointed.

There is something off with the pacing of this book - at times it seems rushed with the author skipping ahead to the next scenario rather than giving us readers more of a story to follow. And worse, the 'heroine', Roseanna, is very unlikeable. At no point did I root for her or want to see her happy and I think has a lot to do with the author not letting us in on Roseannas thoughts.

The ending felt rushed and somewhat unfinished. I usually keep my books to re-read at some point but this one is going straight to the charity shop.

The book was okay to read and I did finish it, however there were some historically inaccurate details with regards to dates and ages of characters and although the book at some points was believable, each time it seemed to lapse into literary porn is all I can find to word it. Plus some rather graphic and disturbing scenes at some points. It would would seem more like a young adult fantasy than a historical novel.

Another can't put it down book from an excellent author who sets the pages on fire with her historical knowledge, intricate story telling and good old fashioned sex and romance. Can't wait to read the next one. I go on the internet and look up her real life characters who blend perfectly with the fictional ones and I am astounded by how much research she must have done to write such brilliant fiction.

The book is good and it was so sad towards the twenty second and third chapter and I wanted to cry.
