My son is not a natural reader, he normally had to be coerced into reading anything - not so with these books, he is picking them up by himself and reaing for a while. Yes they may be a bit silly, but for the mother of a reluctant reader, I think it is more important that my child likes the book and reads them and with these books he does just that Would recommend for age 7+, boys especially.
Captain Underpants is really, really funny. And stupid. He goes on mysterious missions that include him shooting underwear. He is really principal Krupp. He is so stupid that he stops crimes in underwear. He is hypnotized. The two kids that made him Captain Underpants were kind of weird, but they were good children.
I came across this book whilst trying to find something new and fun for my 9 year old son to read. I ended up buying 3 from the series. Needless to say my son loves them and so does my 6 year old daughter. I will be buying the rest of the series. Definately worth buying they keep my son busy for hours.
I chose this for the insane title and wonderful illustrations. It has the correct amount of naughtiness that appeals to boys of a certain age. Would give this the thumbs up if the amount of tittering that came from my grandson was anything to go by.
