the second of Juliana Gray's princess series and written in an usual way. as in the first book the duke of Olympia is hiding the princess, disguised as a boy and working as a lawyers clerk, from a group of hired assassins trying to murder the three sisters from a small german principality. the marquess has been asked to make sure she is safe from harm. needless to say he is falsely arrested for the murder of his stepmother so for half the book he is on trial, so alternate chapters is the story of their romance and the trial. it is done extremely well with a lot of humour in the book and both the main characters are very likeable and brought to life beautifully. Juliana Gray is a really good writer and l put her amongst the mary baloghs and grace burrowes of the world, a terrifically good read.
